FIRST @ Bank of America
The team completed nearly 60 experiences in May including a Women’s Event for 150 women at 18 Label Studios in New Jersey. It featured keynote speaker, Bobbi Brown, Makeup Artist, Entrepreneur, and Founder of Jones Road Beauty, and included a reception catered by Encore Catering (a female-owned caterer), and a panel discussion with women leaders from Bank of America and their clients. The gorgeous weather allowed the reception to extend onto the venue’s patio and guests also went home with a signed copy of Bobbi’s book, Everything Eyes.
FIRST @ BP
FIRST delivered 4 BP events in May including an in-office celebration lunch for the Coronation of their Majesties King Charles III and Queen Camilla. The team held their own 'street party' and enjoyed an afternoon tea and lunch of hot and cold finger foods and beverages in the auditorium. The menu included traditional Scottish treats including Haggis, bonbons and decorative shortbread.
FIRST @ Carlyle
The FIRST @ Carlyle team completed nearly 20 events across May, including two of the biggest events of the year: the Asia & Tokyo Investor Conferences. A true team effort, these events were a collaboration between Carlyle, the FIRST @ Carlyle team, a team from the Agency lane at FIRST, who worked together to pull them both off in five days!
- The Asia Investor Conference welcomed about 250 investors to the Four Seasons Hong Kong for two days of presentations, evening events, and private meetings, including a keynote from Joe Tsai, owner of the Brooklyn Nets.
- The Tokyo Investor Conference hosted over 350 investors at the Four Seasons Tokyo at Otemachi with high profile CEO speakers, presentations, and private meetings.
FIRST @ Capital Group
Capital Group Private Client Services hosted an intimate women’s lunch & learn where one of their female portfolio specialists delivered words of wisdom. This specialist is retiring in June after 43 years in the investment industry and 21 years with Capital Group,
FIRST @ Fresenius
The team completed 4 events this month including the CARE Awards Trip to ANNA Spring Symposium, an all-expense-paid incentive trip for nurses who have provided outstanding service.
FIRST @ Goldman Sachs
Goldman Sachs recently welcomed nearly 300 small business owners from the 10,000 Small Businesses National Cohort to 200 West Street in New York for a week of programming. Throughout the course of the week, entrepreneurs had the opportunity to finalize their growth plan pitches with Goldman Sachs colleagues, participate in workshops to cultivate key skills such as negotiation and digital marketing, and network with fellow 10,000 Small Businesses scholars. The week concluded with a graduation ceremony.
The annual Pine St Experienced Partner Program in Berlin provided 18 experienced Goldman Sachs partners the opportunity to take part in an immersive series of visits with leaders and organizations to explore narratives of leadership, culture and growth. There were 12 visits to the Berlin community, 3 dinners, 2 lunches, a community gathering reception and an activity of graffiti art.
FIRST @ KKR
The team completed 105 experiences this month, including:
- The 2023 Milken Institute Global Conference included a rooftop cocktail reception, along with two speaker slots, over 60 1x1 meetings, a dinner, and fireside chat in West Hollywood.
- 20,000 participants at the 44th J.P. Morgan Corporate Challenge in New York City ran the uphill 3.5-mile (5.6KM) course in Central Park.
- An intimate event with cocktails, dinner, and a lively macro conversation during 2023 Forbes | SHOOK Top Women Advisor Summit in Palm Beach, Florida.
FIRST @ McKinsey
McKinsey’s Global Venue Sourcing Team has booked more than 160 meetings for 2023 thus far (with 50 more currently still actively sourcing!).
One highlight from May was the 2023 North American Partner Meeting in Atlanta, where 1,200 North American leaders gathered over 2 days. The meeting included a keynote by Delta CEO, Ed Bastian and discussions around sector growth and their partnership in the firm. Each practice enjoyed dinner at a staple Atlanta restaurant; the highlight was an Atlanta-themed hospitality night that included a custom Mck-Fil-A station!
FIRST @ Morgan Stanley
The team completed 40 events this month, including:
- The inaugural Captains of Industry Summit, showcasing a select number of Large Cap US Industrials companies and investors to facilitate high quality, strategic interactions. The goal of the event was to allow for Industrial thought leaders in both the corporate and investor space to intersect in an unrivaled setting. Attendees had several opportunities for more intimate interactions ranging from golf to fishing to curated meetings. Overall, it was a successful program with senior leadership featuring compelling sessions and activities for all guests and very positive feedback from leadership and clients alike.
- The 2-day inaugural Luxury Conference in Paris came with a number of firsts and unique requests, from working with new venues, looking after high-profile corporate brands to navigating multiple events, some taking place over the weekend, organized by the Roadshow team. There were a few challenges to overcome on site, however, attendance was strong and feedback has been exceptionally positive - planning has already started for 2024.
- The 24th Annual Prime Brokerage Forum in Barcelona. The forum featured more than 70 established and emerging hedge fund managers from across the globe, and welcomed over 260 investors. Covering 2.5 days, the event primarily focused on 1-on-1 and small group meetings, with 5 floors of the hotel converted into meeting rooms. The event also included 6 panels and numerous networking dinners and drinks receptions. Attendance was higher than in 2022, and the feedback received so far is extremely positive. The team has already started the planning of the “quarter-of-a-century” edition in 2024.
