What can you do this Earth Month, and throughout the year?
Did you hear about the Hummingbird tale? It tells us that no one is too small to carry one drop, even if we feel our individual efforts won’t make a difference. Of course, companies and governments have a critical role to play too. So where do we start? By understanding our impact.
Here are four ways we can make a difference:
Get Around Greener
- Walk anywhere within 2 miles of your home. It’s better for the planet and your health.
- Consider if a flight can be done by train. You could have more quality time to work or relax.
Reduce Energy
- Switch to a certified renewable energy provider.
- Bring your heating down by 1 degree and your cooling up by 1 degree - every little bit helps.
Consume Differently
- Reduce your carbon footprint just by reducing your overall purchasing.
- Consider second hand goods - quite often you’ll find unused products for half the price.
Consider Your Food
- Set yourself a goal of one veggie day a week, and focus on seasonal and local food.
- Buy the right quantities to avoid food waste and freeze leftovers.
