FIRST @ Bank of America
The team delivered 25+ experiences in July.
The 2023 Client Intern Day Conference was a huge highlight, drawing more than 260 buy-side future leaders and representing 100+ companies. Buy-side summer interns were invited to hear from Bank of America Securities senior management on topics that included a review of equity markets, a hedge fund industry overview, sales & trading 101, and what to expect in your first years in finance. Additionally, the conference consisted of breakout sessions facilitated by some of Bank of America Securities' finance trailblazers in small group settings, allowing participants to take full advantage of the opportunities to learn and grow. The day concluded with a dessert reception for further networking and bonding.
FIRST @ Capital Group
The team hosted its quarterly Market Outlook event for clients and prospects in New York. The event covers the markets and some of Capital Group's investment professionals’ perspectives for long-term investors.
FIRST @ Carlyle
FIRST delivered almost 10 Carlyle experiences in July.
One major highlight was on July 31 when Carlyle hosted nearly 80 new associates at Carlyle’s headquarters in Washington DC for four days of orientation. During this experience, associates attended a dinner cruise on the beautiful Potomac River, improv team building from the world-famous improv group, Second City, and five learning tracks.
FIRST @ Goldman Sachs
FIRST hosted the Pine Street Cultural Stewardship event, which is part of a program being rolled out globally across the year. Each event brings together a small group of 20 experienced Goldman Sachs partners to explore leadership, culture, and growth within the firm. This was a two and a half day event that took place at Heckfield Place, a Georgian family home located on 400 acres of Hampshire landscape. It involved a mixture of sessions, workshops, networking receptions, and dinners.
FIRST @ KKR
KKR was busy and bi-coastal in July! A few of the highlights included two back-to-back forums, one in Hudson Yards in New York City and the other in San Francisco. Both events were half-day programs for niche client groups and concluded with open-air cocktail receptions.
FIRST @ McKinsey
More than 1,400 McKinsey colleagues gathered this July in Cambridge, UK, for the firm’s signature learning program. The Cambridge event is named for the University in Cambridge - an iconic location that has hosted the program for almost two decades and welcomed more than 10,000 attendees since 2006.
The Cambridge agenda has evolved, modernized, and grown to connect experienced team leaders with the community as they take their place in the firm’s leadership. During the week-long experience, participants networked with colleagues from all over the world, made meaningful connections, enhanced their client capabilities, and authored their own McKinsey journey based on their personal objectives.
FIRST @ Morgan Stanley
In July, Morgan Stanley had a busy month with nearly 60 events in EMEA, 15 global events, and 20 US roadshows.
The Morgan Stanley EMEA team once again participated in the annual J.P. Morgan Corporate Challenge race, the world’s largest corporate running event, in Battersea Park in London on July 6. Both the top 4 Morgan Stanley men and women runners placed in the top 5 fastest running teams in the challenge. The post-run drinks, BBQ, and sunny ambiance served as a great networking opportunity to meet colleagues.
The AMRS Board Meeting was held internationally in London from July 25-27 for the first time since 2019. The New York Marketing team worked hand in hand with the London-based planning team to collectively coordinate all of the many logistics for this high-touch program. The event included a dinner at Courtauld Gallery that went perfectly. CEO James Gorman along with the Operating Committee, Master of Ceremonies, and the board shared praise for the planning of the event and how seamless everything went. A global collaboration at its finest.
